WGTC program coordinator receives industry award

William Gerald Wilkerson,  optical program coordinator for Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, was awarded the 2012 Optician of the Year award from the Opticians Association of Georgia at their recent conference held in Valdosta. 

Wilkerson is the program coordinator for the Wiregrass optical program, serves on the Board of Directors for the Optical Association of Georgia, and was appointed the Continuing Education Chairman for the Association.

SGC announces 2012 Summer Semester Dean’s List

COFFEE COUNTY, GA – News release from South Georgia College

A total of 23 South Georgia College students have earned a spot on the 2012 Summer Semester Dean’s List, according to an announcement by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Carl B. McDonald.

In addition, 40 students earned a spot on the Dean’s List for Part-Time Students.

Students on the Dean’s List attained a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, carried at least 12 hours of academic work, and have satisfied all Learning Support requirements.

ABAC performing arts series kicks off second season

ABAC performing arts series kicks off second season

Five events ranging from the sensational sounds of a symphony orchestra to the magnificent soloists in a classic opera headline the second season of the performing arts series at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

Titled “ABAC Presents”, the series begins with the performance of the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra with cello soloist Steven Taylor on Sept. 16 at 3 p.m. at the Tift County High School Performing Arts Center.
