ROME- Three emotional wins and a short week on the road had Valdosta State coach David Dean worried his team could have a letdown at Shorter.

They didn't.

VSU jumped out to a 24-0 lead in the first half and closes out their GSC schedule with a 37-6 win over Shorter.

Cayden Cochran threw for two touchdowns and ran for another score.

Freshman running back Cedric O'Neal rushed for a score.

The VSU defense forced four Shorter turnovers.

Blazers Dominique Wheeler returned one for a touchdown at the end of the first quarter.

Valdosta State (7-2, 4-1) will close out their regular season at home next Thursday against Texas A&M-Kingsville.
