Local florist delivers 100 bouquets to nursing home | News

VALDOSTA, GA- A Valdosta florist handed out nearly 100 bouquets of flowers at a nursing home today.

The Flower Gallery has participated in Teleflora's National Make Someone Smile Week for the past five years. Teleflora provides the vases, the flowers are donated, and the florists donate their time and labor. The owner says seeing the Heritage Center residents smile makes all of the work worth it.

"It's such a blessing to bring these to the patients, they just love it. They smile and you can tell it really fills their hearts," said owner Susan Mullis.

"It makes me so happy when they do this, I feel so special, and I just love everyone for doing it," said resident Bessie Mathis.

The Flower Gallery plans to continue participating in the special day as long as it keeps making people smile.
