VALDOSTA, GA- The temporary water restriction in Valdosta could be lifted on Tuesday.
City officials say the outdoor water restriction will remain in effect until at least Tuesday. They have replaced water pumps over the last couple of days and a second temporary water pump is expected to be put in place Monday night.
After that pump is installed, the Utility department will be able to assess whether the restriction should continue. They plan on returning to their even/odd watering schedule for outdoor irrigation once the restriction is lifted.
Officials are in a process now of testing the water after the new pumps were installed.
While water levels are steady, the city is still asking Valdosta residents to only use water when it is essential.
They say citizens have cutback on their water use since the restriction took place and the city is very appreciative of the cooperation from Valdosta residents.
Last week, city officials urged residents to cut back their water usage after severe vibrations in water pumps put the pumps out of commission.
