Blazers loss drops them to 5th seed | News

VALDOSTA, GA- It should be quite a battle for the Gulf South Conference baseball title next weekend in Rome.

Valdosta State lost their final game of the regular season 6-4 and the Blazers are the 5th seed for next week's conference tournament.

VSU finished 14-9 in conference while North Alabama, UAH and West Alabama all finished 15-9.

The Blazers had one conference game against West Georgia canceled Easter weekend when their bus broke down on the way to Carrollton.

VSU will play West Alabama in the final game at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The Blazers took a 3-2 lead over West Florida on senior day thanks to a two run triple by Christian Glisson and a two-out single from Bryant Hayman.

West Florida scored two unearned runs in the top of 9th to salvage the final game of the series.
