VALDOSTA, GA- For his first time playing the South Georgia Classic, Robert Streb had no problem learning the Kinderlou Forest Golf Course.
Streb birdied five consecutive holes in his first six holes of his first round and finished with a six-under 66 and a one shot lead.
Streb admits he does watch the leaderboard when he is on the course and was surprised to see his name at the top.
Robert Streb said. "I am kind of surprised by it. Just want to keep going. It is pretty nice."
Streb has a one shot leader over three players including Luke List and Brian Stuard.
Stuard made a birdie at 18 to post a first round 67.
Brian Stuard said. "I feel pretty good about my ball striking. I have worked hard on my putting the last couple of days. It paid off today."
Albany native Josh Broadaway opened with a 70 and is four shot back and Valdosta's Dillon Dougherty posted an even-par 72.
The second round begins at 7:15 a.m. Friday morning at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
