Body found in Valdosta | News

Valdosta authorities are investigating the discovery of a body in the vicinity of Baymeadows  and Ponderosa.

Valdosta Police report that two children walking home from school discovered the body of a deceased, African American male on the railroad tracks that run behind the 1400 block of Baymeadows Drive. 

His name is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.  He appears to be in his 40's and it appears that he may have a gunshot wound to his body, so the case is being treated as a homicide.
