VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - The middle of the Lowndes High softball team heading in different directions in college.

Lowndes High catcher Randi Smith is staying close to home at Valdosta State.

Pitcher Ashley Chapman traveling south to pitch for Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, Florida.

Centerfielder Maiah Talmage is going to ABAC.

Champan was an all-state selection and she and Talmage were both selected to the GACA all-star game.

Randi Smith said. "I know coach Macera runs a really good team. I have got some friends that play there and really like it."

Ashley Chapman said. "I feel like it is a good fit for me. I know a girl down there now so I feel like I will fit in good.

Maiah Talmage said. "I like playing a lot. I like playing good competition."

Lowndes softball coach Alex Gray will be the head coach at the GACA all-star game.
