Miami Beach mayoral candidate wants to discourage Urban Beach Weekend

MIAMI, FL – A candidate for Mayor of Miami Beach has announced his plan to stop the violence and out of control behavior during Urban Beach Weekend which is actually Memorial Day weekend.

Steve Berke, candidate for Mayor of Miami Beach, has detailed a plan to address the controversial "Urban Beach Week".

"My plan includes creating a city oversight committee to supervise, plan and promote each years' ongoing Veterans Beach Week and help discourage the Urban Beach Week activities as much as possible, while promoting local hotel and merchant discounts for Veterans," said Berke.

Adults in Georgia with a valid Georgia library card may participate in the Zoo Atlanta Family Pass program by checking out a Zoo Atlanta-branded DVD from the public library, then bringing the return receipt with their name printed on it and their library card to Zoo Atlanta where they will receive free general admissions.

The pass may be used once per year, per card, per household and is valid for two adults and up to two children (ages 3 – 11).

Miranda Cosgrove’s management has canceled all remaining 2011 concert dates, including the Sunday, September 4 concert at Wild Adventures. 

The tour was canceled due to a serious bus accident in which Miranda was injured. 

Her management confirms that there will be no rescheduling of the cancelled concerts in 2011. 

All reserved concert seats purchased for the concert will be refunded at the park or by calling 229-219-7080.
