VALDOSTA, GA - News release from Valdosta Police Department

In reference to the earlier media release, arrest warrants have been issued for the arrest of Freddrick Tooley, African American male, 21 years of age.

Arrest warrants were signed for Aggravated Assault (4 counts), Burglary, Possession of a Knife During the Commission of a Crime, Motor Vehicle Theft, and Simple Battery.

The Valdosta Police Department is currently looking for Tooley and the burgundy, 2002 Chevrolet Impala, Georgia license plate DP32VQ.

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Lowndes County, Inc. (CAC) was shocked and saddened today to learn of the arrest of Executive Director, Joseph Driggers.

Driggers became Executive Director of the CAC April 2012. As of today, the Board of Directors of the CAC has unanimously placed Driggers on leave without pay, pending further investigation by law enforcement.

Lowndes Co. woman pleads guilty to stealing over $15K in fraudulent benefits

Yesterday, Julia Frances Davis pled guilty in Lowndes County Superior Court to 12 counts of Theft by Taking before Judge James E. Hardy.

Davis, the daughter of a deceased Teachers’ Retirement System of Georgia (TRS) retiree, fraudulently collected retirement benefits following the death of her parents. Between November 2008 and November 2009, the defendant stole $15,778.50 from TRS.

Arrests made in recent metal thefts

On December 21st, investigations lead deputies to Homan Circle in Axson. Deputies were following leads into the theft of irrigation pipe from a Mora farm. A knock at the residence door caused the occupants to flee. Deputies enlisted the aid of Department of Corrections K-9 Officer Gorley.

Homerville woman charged with murder

HOMERVILLE, GA - News release from the Georgia Bureau Investigation Douglas Office

On Wednesday night, January 4, 2012, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation obtained a murder warrant for Tanisha Evette Clark in reference to the homicide of Theodore Thomas Jr in Homerville, Clinch County Georgia, which occurred January 1, 2012.  

Clark, 21 years old, was arrested in Homerville and is currently incarcerated at the Clinch County jail.
