The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation presented an Excellence in Rehabilitation Award to Patrick Sullivan and Christopher Williams for the rehabilitation of the Briggs-Smith Building at 117-119 N. Patterson Street, at the April 20 annual awards ceremony, in Roswell, Ga. 

Beginning in 2008, Sullivan and Williams undertook the historically-sensitive rehabilitation of the second story of 117-119 N. Patterson Street for use as the corporate offices of their company, ClientTell, Inc.

 SGMC, Kohl’s Department Store, and the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department will be hosting Bike Smart! - a bike safety and bike rodeo program.

The event will be held Saturday, May 19th from 8:30am-10:30am in SGMC’s Surgery Center parking lot. This event is for children ages 5-14.

Children will receive hands-on instruction in bike safety and learn how to wear a bike helmet properly.

Graduate student Ryan Gillen was presented the Best Graduate Paper Award during the Phi Alpha Theta Regional Conference at Rollins College  in Winter Park, Fla. on Saturday, April 14.

"We congratulate Mr. Ryan Gillen for this award presented by the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society," said VSU Interim President Louis Levy. "He represented VSU with distinction."

Two South GA studets named to Region STAR Students

THOMAS AND LOWNDES COUNTIES, GA - News release from The Professional Association of Georgia Educators

This year 21 Region STAR Students from across the state will compete for the honor of being named the 2012 State PAGE STAR Student.  Ten of these finalists scored 2400 on one administration of the SAT test. 

The finalists have each selected a STAR Teacher who they credit as being the teacher who most nurtured, inspired and challenged them during their K-12 academic career.
